The Problem
Magister was losing users to modern competitors. Its "legacy friction"—a cluttered 90s UI—generated high churn and massive overhead for technical support.
The Solution
A redesign focused on centralized search architecture, optimized reading patterns, and a frictionless onboarding flow that prioritizes professional authority.
Frictionless Access & Conversion
I redesigned the entry journey to convey security and authority. By removing unnecessary fields and focusing on visual clarity, we optimized the activation time for new users.
Login Portal: Focused on conversion and security.
Registration: Reducing cognitive load during onboarding.
Password recovery management: A "self-service" flow designed to deflect support tickets.
Intelligent Search Architecture
The heart of the product. We moved from a cluttered search to a results-oriented interface. I implemented collapsible side filters to maintain focus on the content.
Design Insight: The use of skeletons and instant feedback on filters reduced perceived loading time by 25% during usability testing.
Technical Reading Experience
Lawyers spend hours reading dense documents. The redesign prioritized visual comfort, scalable typography, and a clear hierarchy for court rulings and summaries.
Detailed View: Contrast and spacing optimization for prolonged reading sessions.
Data Integrity & Security
In compliance with data protection regulations, I created a security portal where users have total control over their data, active sessions, and two-factor authentication.
