Hey there! I’m Luan Rosa, a UX/UI and Product Designer with a genuine passion for crafting intuitive and user-friendly products. I’ve had an interesting journey, transitioning from architecture to design, and I’m excited to share my story with you. Whether I’m working on educational platforms or collaborating with global teams, my goal is always the same: to create designs that people love to use. Let’s dive in and I’ll tell you more about my experiences and what drives me every day in this ever-evolving field.
A Strong Foundation in UX/UI Design
Let me take you back to the beginning of my design journey. I started out in architecture, which might seem like a far cry from UX/UI design, but it gave me a solid foundation in understanding structure and aesthetics. Soon, I discovered my true passion for UX/UI design and dove headfirst into it.
I’ve been lucky to participate in a bunch of special programs and bootcamps that really honed my skills. Here’s a little peek into what I’ve learned and how I apply it:
- Problem Solving: I love digging into data and user feedback to identify problems and find the best solutions. It’s like being a detective but for design!
- Prototyping: Figma is my go-to tool for creating quick, high-quality prototypes. It’s amazing how fast you can bring an idea to life.
- Design Systems: Building and maintaining design systems is all about making things efficient. It’s like having a playbook that saves time and keeps everything consistent.
- Human-Centered Design: This is at the heart of what I do. From user research to designing user flows and conducting usability tests, it’s all about understanding and improving the user experience.
- Prototyping in Action: Whether it’s low-fidelity sketches or high-fidelity prototypes, I enjoy the entire spectrum of design.
- Feedback and Critique: Engaging in design critique sessions is crucial. It’s where ideas get refined and the best solutions emerge.
- Agile Methodologies: Scrum and agile practices keep everything on track and ensure we’re delivering value consistently.
- These experiences have shaped me into the designer I am today, always eager to learn and stay ahead of the latest trends and best practices in the field.
Leading Products and Outcomes at Escola Conquer
Now, let’s talk about my role at Escola Conquer, a really cool edtech company focused on business education. Here, I’ve had the opportunity to lead some exciting projects, including developing and maintaining their educational platform and learning management system.
These platforms aren’t just about tech—they’re about making a real impact. We’ve managed to generate around $1 million in monthly revenue and have been instrumental in helping over 230 companies and more than 5,200 users achieve their learning goals.
But it’s not just about the big numbers. I’ve also had a hand in developing internal project management software and a customer data management system. These tools have really streamlined our operations, making life easier for our team of over 500 members and helping us work smarter.
It’s been a fantastic experience seeing how design can make such a tangible difference, and I’m really proud of what we’ve achieved at Escola Conquer.
Current Role at Object Edge
Since March 2023, I’ve been diving deep into my role as a Mid-level UI/UX Designer at Object Edge USA-Brazil. It’s been an exhilarating journey collaborating with global teams on innovative projects that span different time zones and cultures.
Working at Object Edge has been a game-changer for me. It’s not just about designing interfaces; it’s about understanding how design impacts businesses on a global scale. From brainstorming sessions with colleagues in the US to presenting ideas to clients across the world, every day brings new challenges and opportunities to grow.
This experience has really sharpened my cross-functional collaboration skills and taught me a lot about adapting design principles to diverse audiences. It’s exciting to be part of a team that’s pushing boundaries and creating solutions that resonate globally.
Experience as a Designer and Freelancer
Outside of my roles at Escola Conquer and Object Edge, I’ve had the chance to explore different facets of design. At Vennx, I focused on developing and maintaining websites, learning the ins and outs of creating digital experiences that are both functional and visually appealing.
As a freelancer, I’ve had the freedom to work on a variety of projects—from designing websites and apps to crafting software solutions for small businesses. Platforms like Figma, WordPress, Elementor, and Hotjar have been my trusted companions in bringing these projects to life.
Each project has taught me something new, whether it’s mastering a new tool or adapting to different client needs. It’s been a rewarding journey that’s allowed me to expand my skills and deepen my understanding of how design can solve real-world problems, no matter the scale.
A Commitment to Excellence
Building a strong portfolio isn’t just about showcasing my skills—it’s about constantly pushing myself to learn and grow. That’s why I’ve dedicated myself to continuous learning and professional development.
I recently completed the Google UX Design Professional Certificate and a UX Designer bootcamp with IGTI. These programs have been invaluable, diving deep into mobile design, interface evaluation, and the art of pitching your product with impact.
But learning isn’t just about courses. It’s about applying those skills in real-world scenarios and refining them with every project. Whether I’m prototyping a new app interface or conducting usability tests, I’m always looking for ways to improve and innovate.
For me, excellence isn’t a destination—it’s a journey of constant improvement and a commitment to delivering the best possible outcomes for every project I take on.
Future Aspirations
Looking ahead, my ultimate goal is to continue working and collaborating with global teams. I’m passionate about leveraging my diverse background and skills to create innovative and user-friendly products that make a difference in people’s lives.
Whether it’s designing educational platforms that enhance learning experiences or crafting interfaces that simplify complex tasks, I thrive on the challenge of solving problems and creating meaningful solutions.
I’m excited about the possibilities that lie ahead in the ever-evolving field of UX/UI design. There’s so much to learn and explore, and I’m eager to contribute my skills to projects that have a positive impact on users worldwide.
