Meet Luan Rosa: A UX/UI Designer with a Passion for Gaming and User-Centered Design

Hi, my name is Luan Rosa, and I am a UX/UI Designer and Product Designer with a passion for creating intuitive and user-friendly products, particularly in the gaming industry. Although I have not yet had the opportunity to work in the gaming industry, it has been a dream of mine since I was a kid.

A Strong Foundation in UX/UI Design

With a background in architecture and a variety of special programs and bootcamps under my belt, I have a strong foundation in UX/UI and a commitment to staying up-to-date on the latest trends and best practices in the field. Some of the concepts and frameworks I have applied to my products include:

  • Identification of problems based on data analysis and user feedback, and taking actions to solve them throughout the design process
  • Fast prototyping on Figma to deliver high-quality designs before the deadline
  • Scaling and maintaining a Design System to streamline the design process and save time
  • Interaction human-centered design, including user research, user flow design, and usability testing
  • Creation of low and high-fidelity designs and prototypes
  • Design critique and feedback sessions
  • Agile product management methodologies such as Scrum

Leading Products and Outcomes at Escola Conquer

A UX designer sits at a desk with a laptop open, working on Figma in a project for Escola Conquer.

My most recent role has been at Escola Conquer, a business school edtech company, where I have been responsible for leading design products such as the creation and maintenance of an educational platform and a platform for courses and learning management. These products have resulted in about $1 million in monthly revenue for the company and have been used by over 230 companies with more than 5200 users.

In addition, I have contributed to the development of the internal project and process management software and a customer data management system for strategic support. These products have helped to optimize the work of Conquer’s teams, which have more than 500 members, and have improved the efficiency and effectiveness of the company’s operations.

Experience as a Designer and Freelancer

In addition to my work at Escola Conquer, I have also worked as a UX/UI and web designer for Vennx, where I developed and maintained company websites. As a freelancer, I have designed websites, apps, and software for small companies on platforms such as Upwork, Workana, 99jobs, and direct contracts.

Through these experiences, I have gained a wide range of skills and expertise in UX/UI design and have had the opportunity to work on a variety of products for different types of clients. I have also had the chance to improve my skills in tools such as Figma, WordPress, Elementor, and Hotjar.

A Passion for Gaming and UX

A UX designer holds a red PS4 joystick in his right hand, with banners of the video game Red Dead Redemption hanging in the background. The designer has a smile on his face as he looks at the camera.

Despite my diverse background and experience, my ultimate goal is to use my skills and passion for gaming to create intuitive and engaging products in the gaming industry. I believe that UX design has the power to enhance the player experience and create truly immersive and memorable gaming experiences.

To further develop my skills and knowledge in this area, I am currently enrolled in the UX Unicorn 2.0 Program, where I am learning about UX strategy, UX research, mapping and facilitation, UX writing, basic frontend development, UI design, and Figma. I am working on a hands-on challenge that involves designing a full case from start to finish as well.

I am also enrolled in the Game Design: Art and Concepts Specialization from CalArts, where I am learning about narrative for video games, world design, character design, documentation, and much more. Besides that, I recently became a member of the Interaction Design Foundation, where I have the opportunity to improve my skills in many areas related to UX design in this amazing school.

In addition to my formal education, I have also completed the Google UX Design Professional Certificate and a UX Designer bootcamp with IGTI. These programs have provided me with valuable skills and knowledge in areas such as mobile design, interface evaluation, and selling products.

A Strong Portfolio and a Commitment to Excellence

Throughout my career, I have worked hard to build a strong portfolio of products that showcase my skills and abilities as a UX/UI designer. My portfolio includes a wide range of products, from websites to apps to software, and I am always looking for new opportunities to create innovative and user-friendly products.

In addition to my portfolio, I am also committed to staying up-to-date on the latest trends and best practices in the field of UX/UI. I believe that continuous learning and professional development are essential for success in any career, and I am always looking for ways to improve and grow as a designer.
